    We spent a great day with Athula, who picked us up in Beragala and took us the long way round to Ella. We stopped to see the ancient site at Buduruwagala and many of the waterfalls on the way to Ella. Athula is local and wherever we stopped everyone knew him and he knew everyone else! Totally trustworthy, reliable and really nice person. On route he pointed out many things to us from pepper trees to wildlife we would have missed out on had we not spent the day with him. We got a feel for local life as he chatted about his life with his young family and growing up around Ella. If you are in area would highly recommend spending some time with him, nothing is too much trouble and you'll leave with sharing his infectious smile!

    Of everything I did during my 3 week trip to Sri Lanka, Athu’s tour of Ella and the surrounding areas was a real highlight - I cannot recommend it highly enough! We started at 6am to ensure we would be up little Adam’s peak for a beautiful sunrise before heading to other famous spots like nine arches bridge and Ravana falls. He has an encyclopaedic knowledge of the local area, is a very skilled photographer (my instagram has never looked so good) and also an exceptionally fun & friendly guy to spend a day with. What made this tour special was visiting spots off the beaten track, secret swimming/viewing points, local restaurants/villages and touring tea plantations in his old school jeep. 10/10 tour, would highly recommend

    This was the best tour i had so far! We saw the highlights of ella. But the best part was that he showed us around in his town and we went to this amazing subset spot with a really cool car. Highly recommend!

    What a great driver is Athula. The entire trip full of positivity. And we have learned a lot from the history of Sri Lanka. He knows all the great highlights and especially nice to visit the local cultural spots! We traveled with our friends and they still talking about him. So if you go Sri lanka we really advice you GO WITH Athula!!!!

    We booked a tour with Athu and from the moment we started to talk to him he helped us. He is so nice and calm. He explained everything with a really good english. He also showed us a lot about nature, all the plants, the tree fruits etc. and he told us so much about his life and sri lankan life. The tour was supposed to be 5 visits but we saw so much more ! He also took great photos so we have memories of this wonderful experience. We had such a great time, we were so sad leaving him at the end of the day Thank you so much again for everything you’ve done You’re really a great person and I hope you will get everything in life. You trully deserve it

    “Punchi Sri Pada” is another name for this peak. It is 1141 m in height. Little Adam's Peak attracts many travelers who come to Sri Lanka.     Nine Arches Bridge

    Nine Arches Bridge

    Built at 3100m above sea level, among the craggy peaks of the Central Highlands; the Nine Arches forms a viaduct between the Demodara and Ella Railway stations. Built entirely out of brick, rock and cement; without a single piece of steel; the bridge has stood solid from 1921, its time of creation.

    Ravana Ella Falls

    This waterfall measures approximately 25 m (82 ft) in height and cascades from an oval-shaped concave rock outcrop. During the local wet season, the waterfall turns into what is said to resemble an areca flower with withering petals.

    Diyaluma Falls

    Diyaluma Falls

    Diyaluma Falls is 220 m high and the second highest waterfall in Sri Lanka and 361st highest waterfall in the world. It is situated 6 km away from Koslanda in Badulla District on Colombo-Badulla highway. The Falls are formed by Punagala Oya, a tributary of Kuda Oya which in turn, is a tributary of Kirindi Oya.

    Demodara Loop

    The Demodara Loop is where the track passes under itself, going around the loop and emerges from the no 42 tunnel. The Loop is 441 feet long. The station is situated exactly over the tunnel. Also that's the centre of the crossing point of the loop.
