What to expect
The Koutoubia Mosque is the largest mosque in Marrakech and one of the most famous sights in the Moroccan city. The world-famous mosque was built in the 12th century and is therefore one of the oldest in Morocco. Literally translated, the name of the mosque means "mosque of the book trade". In the Middle Ages, the Koutoubia Mosque was the spiritual center of the city... more information about 5 pillars of Islam, women's rights, ritual washing and more about religion and religiosity in Morocco
Passing through the Koutoubia Gardens, you can observe the ruins of the Almoravid Palace , a true architectural masterpiece of Spanish-Moorish architecture, surrounded by a delightful green area of two hectares, planted mainly with rose bushes and surrounded by romantic borders.
Souk Semmarine
Along the road to the SOUK we will talk about the history of Riads in Morocco as well as houses doors, seven men of Marrakesh and about many languages in Morocco...
It is the largest open-air restaurant in Morocco, the beating heart of the city, one of the most exciting and perhaps noisiest places in the world. The name means something like "gathering of the dead" and comes from the time when this place was still used as an execution site. It is now also called "Place of the Jugglers" The market square is transformed into a brilliant spectacle. Jugglers, snake charmers, storytellers, fortune tellers, fire-eaters, dancers, music groups with drums and lutes as well as acrobats perform their arts. Trained monkeys, camels and horses romp around the Djemaa el-Fna.
The experience can be subject to change due to bad weather or unforseen circumstances. We always endeavour to give you the best possible experience.
