What to expect
Centro Historico de Sintra
Sintra historical centre is famous for its 19th-century Romanticist architecture, present in historic estates and villas blended with gardens that hold exotic species of trees, royal palaces and castles built along the surrounding mountain. This combination confers to the village a unique landscape, which resulted in its classification as UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Sintra National Palace
In the heart of the town's historic centre you will find this fabulous place. Its construction began in the 15th century and Medieval, Gothic, Renaissance and Romantic styles stand out in this monument. Sintra National Palace was the Portuguese Royal Family’s refuge until 1910.
Quinta da Regaleira
Built between 1904 and 1910, this fabulous place is located near the town’s historic centre. The romantic style of its structure takes us to another dimension, and the surrounding gardens, caves, lakes and other enigmatic constructions bring to life the Gothic and Renaissance style.
Park and National Palace of Pena
Considered the town's jewel, the Pena Palace and Park, over the top of the mountain, are products of the creative genius of King Fernando II and the epitome of 19th Century Romanticism in Portugal. The coloured tones of the palace make us doubt if it stepped out of a fairytale, while its luxurious gardens hold more than five hundred species of trees from the four corners of the world.
Azenhas do Mar
A unique village almost carved in cliffs facing the Atlantic Ocean. In its surrounding areas, you can enjoy some fantastic natural pools and viewpoints that offer the most amazing views over this picturesque place.
Cabo da Roca
The westernmost point of continental Europe, that Luis de Camões described once as the place “where the land ends and the sea begins”. The views are breathtaking and the surrounding areas provide an exceptionally beautiful landscape.
Boca do Inferno
In this cliff formation, you can feel the power of the Atlantic Ocean. It’s a sea-arch where waves constantly break and during violent storms, water explodes upwards like an erupting volcano, hence the dramatic name of “Hell’s Mouth”.
The experience can be subject to change due to bad weather or unforseen circumstances. We always endeavour to give you the best possible experience.
