Our guide, Lisa, picked us up at our hotel and we had an outstanding day with her. She asked which palaces we wanted to see and we agreed on Quinta da Regaleira and Pena Palace. We started the day in the village of Sintra where we walked around a bit and went to a bakery that makes some specialities from Sintra (delicious). We then drove to Regaleira where Lisa explained about the palace and directed us to the well, which is very cool and she gave us time to wander the grounds on our own. We then drove out to the coast to small fishing village with beautiful views up on a cliff overlooking the Atlantic and drove a bit down the coast afterwards to have lunch at very nice fish restaurant also up high overlooking the ocean. We then headed back to Sintra for the Pena Palace, which was really impressive. Lisa purposely advised that we go in the afternoon since it’s typically a little quieter than the morning. We had an all around great day and I would highly recommend this trip.

Sintra was a truly wonderful experience! Our guide, Francisco was well versed in the history, legends, architecture and nooks and crannies of Sintra. We stopped at a pastry shop for pastrie and cofffee...wonderful pastries that melted in your mouth. One of our group is a master gardener and she was enchanted by the gardens and plants and Francisco could tell her a bit about the different varieties we saw. Our tour ended with a late lunch at a restaurant frequented by locals in a beautiful setting overlooking the ocean. It was a wonderful day. We would highly recommend the tour and Francisco as your guide.

We took our tour with Jose Dyson and had a fantastic day! This is the best way to see the main sights in Sintra, as Jose knew the perfect timing to move us through Pena Palace and la Quinta de Regaleira efficiently, avoiding the major crowds and pointing out SO MANY details we would have otherwise missed. He showed us all the best photo spots, and even took photos of my best friend and I! We visited a great bakery for some traditional treats, as well as a lovely restaurant. Jose had interesting bits of information on EVERYTHING! It was an amazing tour!

Use another tour operator! He skipped multiple sites that were in the description, was late, had us wait for long periods of time (30 min+) without clarity about what was going on (once in a location where we couldn't sit down and could have instead been enjoying the town) and we had to ask for explanations at multiple sites, instead of him giving the tour as described. The tour does NOT let you avoid lines as it describes and does not incorporate traditional food throughout. The company didn't respond to our call or messages when we tried to confirm it was still happening. And the restaurant they take you to is expensive and not near alternatives, and not particularly "authentic" as menus are only in English and all the other patrons are also English speaking tourists. The actual sites were cool but I was disappointed that I had paid more than other options only to feel like the communication was so poor.

Georgy was a fantastic guide for our day out in Sintra. We appreciated his careful driving and ability, flexibility and creativity in adapting the day to meet our circumstances. We were fascinated by Quinta da Regaleira, which Georgy made so much more fun and engaging by asking us questions and giving us little challenges to spy things in the architecture. Lunch at Restaurante Nortada was just right - in terms of the view, the atmosphere, the food, the wine and the length of the drive there and the stop. We also enjoyed wandering along the beach front in Cascais- so glamorous! We are grateful, too, for the interesting commentary from Georgy- including both history and where the pop stars live- and for getting us to our evening event in comfort, style and on time. Thanks so much!

Day started at our hotel, very easy experience. Our guide Lourenco was exceptional with his knowledge and patience with our group. He kept us on track and made each stop a lesson in the history and culture. i believe you can read the other reviews and see that this tour, while a little more expensive than others is well worth the investment.

This private tour was very enjoyable, we were able to see several of the palaces in Sintra, had time to explore the town centre and try the local pastel which was delicious. Our tour guide was friendly and engaging and we were driven in a very comfortable vehicle. I would recommend taking a jacket as it is noticeably colder than Lisbon.
