Artistic Wonders and Garden Escapes

Today in Taroudant was nothing short of magical. From exploring an artist's stunning palace to wandering through tranquil gardens and savoring local flavors, it was a day that truly captured the essence of this charming Moroccan town. I'm so excited to share all the beautiful moments with you!

Our day began with a delightful breakfast at Snack El Piacere. Maximilian and I enjoyed some traditional Moroccan pastries and strong coffee, fueling up for a day of exploration. The atmosphere was so inviting, with locals chatting and the aroma of freshly baked bread filling the air. It was the perfect way to start our Saturday in Taroudant.

Palais Claudio Bravo: A Feast for the Senses

Next on our itinerary was the Palais Claudio Bravo, and oh my goodness, what an experience! This place is more than just a palace; it's an immersive art experience. Every room is filled with Claudio Bravo's artwork and artifacts, creating a feast for the senses. The architecture itself is stunning, and the gardens are simply heavenly.

We spent hours wandering through the palace, marveling at the intricate details and the sheer beauty of Bravo's creations. The staff were incredibly welcoming, sharing stories about the artist and the history of the palace. It felt like stepping into another world, a world of art, beauty, and tranquility.

Art is not what you see, but what you make others see.

One of the highlights was exploring Bravo's studio, which felt like a sacred space filled with his creative energy. The gardens surrounding the palace were equally enchanting, with lush greenery, serene water features, and breathtaking views of the Atlas Mountains in the distance. It was the perfect place to relax and soak in the beauty of our surroundings.

Tranquility in Taroudant's Gardens

After our artistic adventure, we sought some tranquility in Taroudant's Gardens. These gardens are a hidden gem, offering a serene escape from the bustling city. As we entered, we were greeted by fragrant flowers, lush greenery, and calming water features. It was the perfect place to unwind and reconnect with nature.

We strolled hand-in-hand through the gardens, admiring the vibrant colors and the peaceful atmosphere. The gardens are beautifully maintained, with winding paths leading to hidden corners and quiet benches where you can sit and reflect. It was a welcome respite from the heat of the day, and we felt completely refreshed and rejuvenated.

I couldn't help but think how much Elena would have loved running around these gardens, discovering all the hidden nooks and crannies. I made a mental note to bring her here someday soon. Perhaps next year we can plan a family trip to Morocco!

A Taste of Local Flavors

As the sun began to set, our thoughts turned to dinner. We decided to try Resto Amine for lunch. This restaurant is known for its authentic Moroccan cuisine, and we were eager to sample some local flavors. We ordered a tagine and some couscous, and both dishes were absolutely delicious. The tagine was rich and flavorful, with tender meat and perfectly cooked vegetables. The couscous was light and fluffy, and the accompanying sauce was bursting with spices.

The atmosphere at Resto Amine was relaxed and inviting, with friendly staff and a cozy ambiance. It was the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring, and we felt like we were getting a true taste of Moroccan culture. Maximilian even tried his hand at speaking a few words of Arabic with our waiter, which resulted in much laughter and goodwill.

For dinner, we chose Dar Zitoune, enticed by its reputation for excellent Moroccan cuisine and charming ambiance. The restaurant is set in a beautiful garden, creating a magical atmosphere for our evening meal. We started with some traditional Moroccan salads, followed by a tagine and grilled meats. Every dish was bursting with flavor, and the service was impeccable.

Evening Drinks at Le Moulin de Taroudant

To cap off our day, we decided to visit Le Moulin de Taroudant for a relaxing drink. This bar is known for its laid-back atmosphere and stunning views of the city. We sat on the terrace, sipping mint tea and enjoying the cool evening breeze. The city lights twinkled below us, creating a magical ambiance.

As we sat there, reflecting on our day, I felt so grateful for the opportunity to experience the beauty and culture of Taroudant. It's a town that truly captures the heart, and I can't wait to see what tomorrow brings. Tomorrow we are planning to visit Dar al-Dabbagh and Grande marché de l'artisanat, and I'm excited to see what treasures we might find!

I am also quite excited about the prospect of visiting Aladdin Treasure, and perhaps find some unique mementos there.

Our second day in Taroudant was a resounding success, filled with art, gardens, delicious food, and unforgettable moments. I'm already looking forward to sharing more of our Moroccan adventure with you. Stay tuned for more updates from this enchanting town! Perhaps I will even get a chance to try some crocheting while I am here!

I'm also starting to think about what souvenirs to bring back for Elena. I know she would love a traditional Moroccan doll or a colorful piece of pottery. I'll definitely be on the lookout for something special during our visit to the Grande marché de l'artisanat tomorrow.

It's funny how travel can bring you closer to people, even when you're miles away from home. I feel so connected to Maximilian and our friends on this trip, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to share these experiences with them. And even though Elena isn't here with us, I feel like she's part of our adventure in spirit. I can't wait to tell her all about it when we get back!

This trip is also making me think about my own roots. Growing up in Cholula, Mexico, I was surrounded by vibrant colors, rich traditions, and strong family ties. And while I love my life in Germany, I sometimes miss the warmth and vibrancy of my homeland. Being in Morocco, with its similar culture and traditions, is making me feel more connected to my Mexican heritage than ever before.

As I drift off to sleep tonight, I'm filled with gratitude for this incredible journey. Taroudant has captured my heart in a way that I never expected, and I can't wait to see what tomorrow brings. Goodnight from Morocco!
