Dare Power Park is a popular day-use park located on the eastern side of Lake Martin, approximately six miles west of Dadeville, Alabama [4]. This 30-acre park was developed in 1997 by Alabama Power in cooperation with the local community [4, 7]. The park's name was the winning entry in a contest among students from four Tallapoosa County schools participating in the Drug Awareness Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program [4, 7, 12]. The park boasts a variety of amenities, including a white sandy beach perfect for swimming and sunbathing [4, 6, 10]. Two fishing piers provide ample opportunity to cast a line and try your luck at catching some of Lake Martin's fish [4, 10].
