Driving
To reach Cheaha Wilderness, start from I-20 and take exit 191 for US 431 South [3, 11]. Follow US 431 for approximately 2 miles, then turn onto AL 281 South (Talladega Scenic Drive) [3, 6, 11]. Continue on AL 281, a well-maintained road suitable for RVs, for scenic access to Cheaha State Park and trailheads [6, 19]. Parking is available at Cheaha State Park and at trailheads along AL 281 [5, 7]. Parking fee at Lake Chinnabee Recreation Area is $3 per car per day [3, 4].

From Cheaha State Park, several trails provide access to the Cheaha Wilderness. The Cave Creek Trail starts at the Cheaha Trailhead in Cheaha State Park and goes into the Wilderness heading south [2]. The Chinnabee Silent Trail can be accessed from the Lake Chinnabee Recreation Area [2]. The Pinhoti Trail also runs through Cheaha Wilderness [2].
