Discover more about Lady in the Marina

Barber Marina, located in Elberta, Alabama, is more than just a world-class marina; it's home to a collection of unusual art installations, including the famous Lady in the Marina. This impressive sculpture, also known as the Lady in the Lake or Lady in the Bay, is the creation of artist Mark Cline. The fiberglass sculpture depicts a woman relaxing in the water, with her knees playfully visible above the surface. Originally installed in a pond at Barber Motorsports Park in Leeds, Alabama, the Lady was moved to Barber Marina in 2012. After Hurricane Sally damaged the original sculpture in 2020, she was lovingly restored and re-installed in 2022, much to the delight of locals and tourists alike. If the Lady were to stand, she would be as tall as the Statue of Liberty (without the upraised arm). While visiting the Lady in the Marina, be sure to explore the other oddities scattered around Barber Marina, including Bamahenge (a replica of Stonehenge), dinosaur sculptures, and metal knights hidden in the woods. Barber Marina is free to enter, making it an accessible and fun destination for the whole family.
