Getting There

  • Walking

    From Gjirokastra Castle, descend towards the Old Town. The bazaar is centrally located and easily accessible via the cobblestone streets. Follow the signs for 'Qafa e Pazarit'. The walk is approximately 5-10 minutes, though the slope can be steep.

  • Public Transport

    Local buses connect the new town to the historic center. Take a bus that goes to the Old Town and get off near the Tourist Information Center. From there, it's a short walk to the bazaar. Bus fare is around 30 LEK.

  • Taxi

    Taxis are available throughout Gjirokastra. A taxi from the bus station or the new town to the bazaar costs approximately 200 LEK. Taxis can drop you off near the entrance of the Old Town, from where it is a short walk to the bazaar.

  • Driving

    If driving, be aware that parking in the Old Town can be challenging. There is an underground parking garage nearby that costs about €2 for 3 hours. Alternatively, there is private parking available for 1000 LEK per day. From the parking area, the bazaar is a short walk away.
