Getting There

Walking
From the center of Gjirokastër, head west along the main road (Rruga 18 Shtatori) towards the Gjirokastër Castle. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with SH4. At this intersection, turn right onto SH4. Follow the signs towards Himara. After about 15 minutes of walking, you will see signs for Himara Castle. Follow the road uphill to reach the castle entrance.

From Gjirokastër, go to the bus station located at Rruga 18 Shtatori. Look for a bus heading to Himara. The journey will take about 1 hour. Once you arrive in Himara, disembark at the main bus stop. From there, ask locals for directions to Himara Castle, which is a short walk away. Head northwest on SH8 until you see the castle on your right.

If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from a local shop in Gjirokastër. Start your journey by heading west on Rruga 18 Shtatori towards the Gjirokastër Castle area.
