Gorica Bridge: A Timeless Icon of Berat

The Gorica Bridge, also known as Ura e Goricës, stands as a proud landmark in the UNESCO World Heritage city of Berat, Albania. Spanning the Osum River, this elegant bridge connects the Gorica neighborhood with Mangalem, the city's vibrant heart, offering a picturesque gateway between the old and new. Originally constructed from wood in 1780 during the Ottoman era, the bridge was rebuilt with stone in the 1920s, giving it the appearance it retains today. The seven-arched structure stretches 129 meters in length and 5.3 meters in width, rising approximately 10 meters above the average water level.
