Getting there

Walking

From the center of Sarandë, head northwest, following signs for Teqeja Sarandë. The walk is uphill and takes approximately 45-60 minutes. The route offers scenic views of the city and coastline. Be prepared for a moderately challenging walk.

Public Transport

From the main bus station in Sarandë (near Parku Miqësia), look for a minibus heading towards the villages outside Sarandë. Ask the driver for the stop nearest to Teqeja Sarandë. The bus ride takes approximately 15-20 minutes and costs around 100 Lek. From the bus stop, walk approximately 200 meters towards the main road, and the Teqeja will be on your left.

Taxi

Taxis are readily available in Sarandë. A taxi ride from the city center to Teqeja Sarandë takes approximately 10-15 minutes. Negotiate the fare before starting the journey; a typical fare should be around 700-1000 Lek. Alternatively, use the Patoko ride-hailing app for transparent pricing.

Teqeja Sarandë, officially known as Teqeja Reshat Dede Baba, is a Bektashi Sufi shrine located on the outskirts of Sarandë, Albania. Founded in 2009 by Dede Reshat Bardhi, the former world leader of the Bektashi Order, the teqeja stands on a site believed to bear the footprints of Sari Salltik, a revered figure in Bektashi tradition. The shrine is dedicated to the veneration of saints and provides a serene space for meditation and reflection.The architecture blends traditional Albanian styles with ornate decorations, reflecting the faith and devotion of the Bektashi community. Visitors can explore the grounds, admire the craftsmanship, and learn about Sufi rituals and practices. A small museum houses original Bektashi artifacts.Beyond its spiritual significance, Teqeja Sarandë offers panoramic views of the Ionian Sea and the Albanian coastline, making it a perfect spot for photography enthusiasts and nature lovers.
