    Tyrbja e Kapllan Pashës, or the Tomb of Kapllan Pasha, is a significant historical landmark located in the heart of Tirana. Constructed in the early 19th century (circa 1817) during the Ottoman period, the tomb is dedicated to Kapllan Pasha, who governed Tirana in the early 1800s. It is a Cultural Monument of the first category.Originally, the tomb was part of a larger complex associated with Tirana's first mosque, which included six similar monumental tombs. However, during World War II, the mosque and most of the tombs were destroyed, leaving Kapllan Pasha's tomb as the sole survivor. In 1948, the Albanian government recognized the tomb's cultural significance.The tomb features a distinctive octagonal shape, constructed with carved stones. Eight stone columns with plant motif capitals support arches, showcasing the craftsmanship of the era. While Kapllan Pasha was initially buried here, his remains were later moved to Istanbul, Turkey. Today, the restored Tyrbja e Kapllan Pashës stands in contrast to the modern buildings surrounding it, serving as a reminder of Tirana's layered history.
