    From the center of Bejaia, begin at Avenue du 1er Novembre and walk northeast toward Place du 1er Novembre, a central square. At the square, take Avenue de la Liberté heading south and continue straight until the intersection with Rue des Frères Boukha. Turn left onto Rue des Frères Boukha and follow it until you reach the foot of Gouraya Mountain. Follow the marked hiking path that leads to the fort, approximately 660 meters above sea level. Allow ample time for a moderately challenging uphill hike.

    From Bejaia city center, take local bus number 3 or 4 towards the Gouraya area. Inform the driver you want to get off at the stop closest to the foot of Gouraya Mountain. Follow the signage to Fort Yemma Gouraya and hike up the trail to the fort, approximately 660 meters from the base. Bus fare is approximately 15 DZD.

  • Taxi

    Taxis are available in Bejaia. A taxi to the base of Gouraya Mountain, where the hiking trail begins, will cost approximately 200-300 DZD from the city center. From there, follow the hiking trail to the fort.
