Getting There

    If you are already in Vatia Village, the bay is easily accessible by foot. Start from the village center and head southeast on Vatia Rd. It's approximately a 20-minute walk (1 mile) to Vatia Bay. Follow the road, and you'll see signs directing you to the bay. Enjoy the scenic walk, taking in the local flora and fauna. Remember to bring water, especially on warm days. No costs involved.

  • Public Transport

    From Pago Pago, take an Aiga bus towards Vatia. These buses are a colorful and affordable way to travel. The bus fare is around $2.50 per person one way. The buses operate throughout the day, but services conclude around 5:00 PM from Monday to Friday, with reduced service on Saturdays and limited service on Sundays. Ask the driver to drop you off at the nearest point to Vatia Bay, about 1 mile from the village center. From there, follow the signs towards the beach, which requires a short walk.

  • Car

    If driving from Pago Pago, head east along the main road (American Samoa Highway 006) towards Vatia. As you approach Vatia Village, continue straight for about 1 mile. Look for signs indicating the beach access. Turn right onto the gravel path leading down to the bay. There is no parking fee, and you can park your car along the roadside as you make your way to the beach. Note that the road between Vatia and Afono is known for its ornamental plant and flower gardens.
