Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start from the main road in Valira del Nord Valley. Head towards the town of Encamp, where you will find signs directing you to the Andorran lakes. Once you reach the intersection near the Grandvalira Ski Resort, turn onto the road leading towards Estany de la Nou. You will drive along a scenic route, passing through beautiful mountain landscapes. Keep an eye out for the signs indicating the way to Estany de la Nou. The lake is located approximately 10 km from the center of Encamp, and parking is available near the lake.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, take a bus from the central bus station in Andorra la Vella to Encamp. The bus ride will take about 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Encamp, transfer to a local bus that goes towards the Estany de la Nou area. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance, as services may be limited. The local bus will drop you off at a stop close to the lake, from where you may need to walk a short distance to reach the shore of Estany de la Nou. A round-trip bus fare from Andorra la Vella to Encamp is approximately €4.

• Hiking

  If you're feeling adventurous, consider hiking to Estany de la Nou. Starting from Encamp, take the marked hiking trails that lead into the mountains. The hike is moderately challenging and will take around 2 to 3 hours depending on your pace. Follow the signs for Estany de la Nou, enjoying the stunning scenery along the way. Make sure to wear appropriate hiking gear and bring water and snacks. This option is free, but you should be prepared for a physical challenge and check the weather conditions before you set out.
