Villa Las Cuevas, an Andean village located 200 kilometers from the city of Mendoza, sits at an altitude of 3,151 meters above sea level. This village belongs to the department of Las Heras, is located on Route 7, near the border with Chile. Originally founded in the 1950s and named “Villa Eva Perón”, the village served as a crucial point along the Transandine Railway.
