Car
From Cerro Fitz Roy, start your journey by heading south on Ruta Provincial 41. Continue on this road for about 20 kilometers until you reach the junction with Ruta 40. Turn right onto Ruta 40 and continue for approximately 30 kilometers. Look for signs directing you to Los Glaciares National Park. Once you enter the park, follow the signs for Desert Lake. The last stretch requires a short hike from the parking area, so be prepared with proper footwear and water.

Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, take a bus from El Chaltén to El Calafate, which operates several times a day (check schedules in advance). From El Calafate, you need to catch a bus to Los Glaciares National Park. Make sure to ask the bus driver to drop you off at the closest point to Desert Lake.
