From El Chaltén town center, head southwest on Avenida San Martín towards Calle 9 de Julio. Continue on Route 23 for approximately 2 kilometers until you reach the junction. At the junction, turn right onto the gravel road that leads to the trailhead for the Laguna de los Tres. Park your car at the designated parking area. From here, follow the marked trail towards Laguna de los Tres. After about 1 hour of hiking, you will come across a fork in the trail. Take the left path towards Confluencia del río Fitz Roy y Río de las Vueltas. Continue hiking for approximately 2 more hours until you reach the confluence, which will be marked by a viewpoint.

At the El Chaltén bus terminal, take a shuttle or a tour bus that goes to the trailhead for Laguna de los Tres. Tickets can be purchased at the terminal or through local tour operators. The trip should take about 20-30 minutes. Once you arrive at the trailhead, follow the marked trail towards Laguna de los Tres. After approximately 1 hour of hiking, you will find a fork in the trail. Take the left path toward Confluencia del río Fitz Roy y Río de las Vueltas. Continue for about 2 more hours until you reach the confluence point, which is well-marked.
