Getting There

  • Bus

    From El Calafate, the most common way to reach the Perito Moreno Glacier is by bus. Several bus companies offer daily services from the El Calafate bus terminal to the park. A round-trip ticket costs approximately 28,000 ARS (approximately 26 EUR). Remember to add a terminal fee of 3,000 ARS. The bus journey takes around 1.5 hours, offering scenic views along the way. The bus will drop you off near the visitor center, from where you can access the Mirador via the well-marked walking paths.

  • Car

    If you prefer to drive, rent a car in El Calafate and take Route 11 to Los Glaciares National Park. The drive is approximately 80 km and takes around 1.5 hours. Route 11 is well-maintained, making for a pleasant drive. Upon entering the park, continue for another 14 km to reach the designated parking area for the Mirador Perito Moreno. Parking is available near the mirador. Be aware that there is an entrance fee to the national park, which is currently 45,000 ARS (approximately $40 USD) for foreign visitors. A 3 or 7-day flexipass is available if you plan to visit other areas of the park.

  • Walking

    Once inside Los Glaciares National Park, you can walk from the main visitor center to Mirador del Glaciar Perito Moreno R11. The walking path is well-marked and offers stunning views of the glacier. The walk takes approximately 30 minutes. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and carry water.
