Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, head towards the town of San Carlos de Bariloche, which is commonly used as a base for exploring Nahuel Huapi National Park. From Bariloche, take Route 40 south. After approximately 70 kilometers, you'll reach the junction with Route 237. Turn onto Route 237 and continue for about 30 kilometers until you see signs for Lago Correntoso. Follow the signs to the Cascada los Cántaros trailhead. There is a parking lot available near the starting point of the hike. Please note that parking may incur a fee, typically around 100-200 ARS.

• Public Transportation

  For those relying on public transportation, start by taking a bus from Bariloche to Villa La Angostura. Buses leave regularly from the main terminal in Bariloche, with the journey taking about 1-2 hours. Once in Villa La Angostura, you can take a local taxi or ride-sharing service to the trailhead of Cascada los Cántaros. Alternatively, check if local tour operators offer guided tours that include transportation to the waterfall. Expect to pay around 400-600 ARS for the bus fare, and additional costs for taxi services.

• Hiking

  Once you arrive at the trailhead, the hike to Cascada los Cántaros is approximately 1.5 kilometers and should take about 30-45 minutes to reach the waterfall. The trail is well-marked and offers beautiful views of the surrounding landscape, including the lake and forest areas. Make sure to wear comfortable hiking shoes, and bring water and snacks for the journey. The trail can be steep in some sections, so be prepared for an uphill trek.
