Travel Guide to Mirador Pil Pil

Getting There

• Car

  From the center of San Martín de los Andes, head southwest on Av. San Martín toward Av. 25 de Mayo. After 1.5 km, turn left onto RN40. Continue on RN40 for approximately 16 km until you reach the sign for Mirador Pil Pil, which is located on your right. There is a parking area available near the observation deck. Note that there may be a small parking fee depending on the season.

• Public Transportation

  From the main bus terminal in San Martín de los Andes, look for local buses heading toward Villa La Angostura or those specifically labeled for Mirador Pil Pil. The journey typically takes about 30-40 minutes. Make sure to ask the driver to drop you off at the Mirador Pil Pil stop. Once you arrive, it's a short walk to the observation deck.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the rental shops in San Martín de los Andes. Start by heading southwest on Av. San Martín toward Av. 25 de Mayo, then follow the same route as cars onto RN40. The ride is about 16 km and involves some uphill sections, so be prepared for a workout. There are designated bike lanes along some parts of the route.

• Walking

  While walking to Mirador Pil Pil is not common due to the distance (approximately 16 km from the center), adventurous travelers may choose to hike. Start from the center of San Martín de los Andes, head toward RN40, and follow the road. This hike will take several hours and is recommended only for those experienced in long-distance hiking, as the route is not entirely pedestrian-friendly.
