If you're driving from Ushuaia, take Route 3 north out of the city. After approximately 7 km, turn left onto Route J, which is well signposted for Laguna Esmeralda. Continue on Route J for about 12 km until you reach a parking area at the trailhead. The last part of the drive is unpaved, so a vehicle with good clearance is recommended. Make sure to pay attention to any signs indicating parking fees, which can vary.

From Ushuaia, you can take a local bus heading towards the Tierra Mayor Valley, which runs frequently.
