Getting There

• Car

  To reach Bonita Creek Loop Trail within Chiricahua National Monument by car, begin at the visitor center located off the entrance road. From the visitor center, head southeast on Bonita Canyon Drive (the main road through the monument). Keep driving for approximately 7 miles until you reach the signed turnoff for Bonita Creek Loop Trail. Turn left onto the trailhead road, and follow it until you reach the parking area at the trailhead. Be aware that there may be a parking fee or entrance fee to the monument, which is typically around $5 per vehicle.

• Public Transportation + Hiking

  If you are using public transportation, you will need to first take a bus to the nearest larger town (such as Willcox, AZ) and then arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to take you to Chiricahua National Monument. Once at the monument, you will start at the visitor center and follow the same directions as if you were driving. You will still need to walk or hike approximately 7 miles along Bonita Canyon Drive to the Bonita Creek Loop Trailhead after being dropped off at the visitor center.

• Biking

  For those who prefer cycling, you can bike from the visitor center along Bonita Canyon Drive. The ride is approximately 7 miles to the Bonita Creek Loop Trailhead. Ensure that you have a suitable bike for the terrain, and be prepared for some elevation changes. There are no bike rentals available inside the park, so you must bring your own bike. Remember that the same entrance fee applies.
