From the visitor center at Chiricahua National Monument, head south on Chiricahua National Monument Road. Continue straight for approximately 8 miles until you reach the junction with Forest Road 42. Turn left onto Forest Road 42. Follow this road for about 2 miles, and then look for the parking area on your right, which is the trailhead for John Hands Waterfall. Please note that a park entry fee is required, which is $5 per vehicle.

Once you've parked at the trailhead for John Hands Waterfall, follow the clearly marked trail leading to the waterfall. The hike is approximately 1.5 miles one way and is relatively moderate in difficulty. Be sure to wear sturdy hiking shoes and bring water, as the terrain can be rocky and there may be sections with elevation changes.
