From Strawberry, Arizona, head west on Fossil Creek Road for approximately 5 miles. Turn right at the Bob Bear Trailhead sign. The trailhead parking lot will be on your right. Note that during the spring and summer seasons (April 1 to October 1) a permit is required to park here, and reservations must be made in advance at Recreation.gov for $6.00 per vehicle.
Walking
From the center of Strawberry, Arizona, the Bob Bear Trailhead is approximately 5 miles to the west along Fossil Creek Road. While walkable, the road is exposed and lacks sidewalks, making it a potentially long and hot walk. Consider driving to the trailhead instead, keeping in mind the parking permit requirements during peak season. There are no public transportation options to reach the trailhead.
