Public Bus
From downtown Mesa, head to the nearest Valley Metro bus stop. You can take the Route 61 bus towards Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport. Ride the bus for approximately 40 minutes until you reach the 'Happy Valley Rd & 19th Ave' stop. From there, transfer to the Route 50 bus towards 59th Ave & Bell Rd. Ride this bus for about 10 minutes until you reach the 'Sonoran Desert Dr & 16th Ave' stop. The Sonoran Preserve - Desert Vista Trailhead will be a short walk from the bus stop.

If you prefer to cycle, you can rent a bike from a local rental shop in Mesa. Start at the Mesa Arts Center and head west on Main St. Turn right onto the Arizona Canal Trail and follow the trail north. Continue on this path until you reach 19th Ave. Turn left on 19th Ave going north until you reach Happy Valley Rd. From there, turn right and continue west until you reach Sonoran Desert Dr. Turn left on Sonoran Desert Dr and you will find the trailhead at 1600 East Sonoran Desert Drive.
