Located in the Coconino National Forest, just a short drive from uptown Sedona, the trailhead is easily accessible, though parking can be challenging. The trail itself is a 1.2-mile out-and-back trek that gains approximately 700 feet in elevation, making for a moderate to challenging climb. The path begins with a relatively easy walk through juniper and piñon pine forest before ascending onto the red rock base of Cathedral Rock.
