Getting There

  • Walking

    From the University of Arizona's Main Gate, head east on University Boulevard towards Cherry Avenue. Flandrau Science Center will be on your left, just past the Flandrau UofA Bookstore. The walk is approximately 5-10 minutes. No costs involved.

  • Public Transport

    Take the Sun Link Streetcar to the 2nd Street/Cherry Avenue stop. Walk one block south on Cherry Avenue to University Boulevard, then turn left. Flandrau will be on your left. A single ride on the Sun Link Streetcar costs $1.75.

  • Driving

    From I-10, take the Speedway Boulevard exit and head east. Turn right onto Campbell Avenue, then left onto University Boulevard. Flandrau will be on your right. Limited free 2-hour parking is available on Hawthorne Street north of Flandrau; ask for a permit at the front desk. If free parking is unavailable, the Cherry Avenue Garage is located one block south of Flandrau and costs $2 per hour. Metered street parking is also available for $2 per hour.

The Flandrau Science Center and Planetarium is a dynamic science museum located at the heart of the University of Arizona in Tucson. Since opening in 1975, Flandrau has inspired visitors to explore the wonders of science through interactive exhibits and immersive planetarium shows. In 2017, the planetarium theater underwent a complete renovation and was renamed the Eos Foundation Planetarium Theater. The theater features a 15.2-meter dome and seats 146 people. Flandrau offers a diverse range of exhibits covering topics from Earth and space sciences to biology, energy, and optics. Visitors can explore the wonders of the solar system, marine biology, and mineralogy. Interactive exhibits like the 'Universe of Science' allow visitors to delve into microscopic worlds, monsoon storms, and the farthest reaches of deep space.
