Getting There

  • Walking

    From downtown Hot Springs, the West Mountain trails can be accessed via the Canyon Trail, with the trailhead located behind the Mountain Valley Water building. Be prepared for a very steep climb between West Mountain Drive and the West Mountain Trail. Alternatively, access the trails from Whittington Park for a less strenuous start. There is off-street parking available at Whittington Park, where you can also find a National Park office with free spring water. Entrance to the park and trails is free.

  • Driving

    To reach the West Mountain Trail by car, navigate to Whittington Park or the West Mountain Summit. From downtown Hot Springs, follow Central Avenue north and turn onto Whittington Avenue to reach the park. Alternatively, take West Mountain Drive to the summit. Parking is available at Whittington Park and along West Mountain Drive. Parking is free. West Mountain Road is open from 5 AM to 10 PM.
