Discover more about Arkansas Inland Maritime Museum

The Arkansas Inland Maritime Museum, located in North Little Rock's Riverfront Park, offers a unique glimpse into naval history with a focus on Arkansas's connection to the sea. As a landlocked state, Arkansas might not seem like a hub of maritime activity, but the museum showcases the state's rich seafaring past through fascinating exhibits and meticulously preserved vessels. The museum's star attractions are the USS Razorback (SS-394), a Balao-class submarine that served in World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and the Cold War, and the USS Hoga (YT-146), a U.S. Navy tugboat that survived the attack on Pearl Harbor. The USS Razorback is the longest-serving combat front-line submarine in the world. Visitors can tour the USS Razorback and experience the sights, sounds, and smells of submarine service, including climbing a 14-foot ladder to enter. The USS Hoga is one of only three vessels from Pearl Harbor that is now a museum ship. In addition to the vessels, the museum features exhibits on the battleship USS Arkansas (BB-33) and the missile cruiser USS Arkansas (CGN-41). Visitors can also explore exhibits on general submarine history, submarine training, and operations. The museum also holds a collection from the Arkansas River Historical Society, detailing the history of the Arkansas River. The North Little Rock Riverfront Park surrounding the museum also features memorials to the submarines USS Snook (SS-279) and USS Scorpion (SSN-589).
