The Martiros Saryan House-Museum, located in Yerevan, stands as a tribute to one of Armenia's most celebrated artists of the 20th century. Martiros Saryan (1880-1972) was known as a master of color, and his works are displayed in the house where he lived and worked from 1932 until his death. The museum was established on November 26, 1967, during Saryan's lifetime, by the Soviet Armenian government. The building consists of a two-story house designed by Alexander Tamanian, to which a three-story gallery, designed by Mark Grigorian, was added in 1967. The museum's collection includes over 300 works, showcasing Saryan's artistic journey from his early drawings to his final paintings. Visitors can explore sketches and paintings from different periods of his life, including famous works such as “Midday Silence”, “Apricot Tree in Blossom”, and “View of Ararat from Yerevan”. The museum also displays Saryan's personal belongings and his studio, offering a glimpse into his creative process. The top of the main facade features a mosaic of Saryan's painting “Armenia”, created by artist Garnik Smbatyan. The museum has undergone renovations, including the addition of a fourth floor used for concerts, exhibitions, and seminars. The museum operates as a branch of the National Gallery of Armenia.
