As you traverse this route, you'll witness a captivating blend of harsh, towering mountains surrounding the Aras border river, alongside the lush, verdant forests of Arasbaran. This unique combination sets it apart from typical rural tourist destinations in Iran, which often showcase only one aspect of the four seasons' beauty. The journey to Namanq involves navigating an uphill path that is as exhilarating as it is scenic. Along the way, you can spot wild berries and shrubs adding to the natural charm. Namanq itself is the last village within the Jolfa County, nestled along the Aras River. Reaching the village requires traveling about 13 kilometers on a dirt road from the high mountain pass after passing through the Aras Free Zone (Jolfa), Siah Rud, Norduz, Kordasht and Oshtebin villages. The Qeshlaq of Armenians, also known as Qeshlaq-e Aramaneh, is another village accessible via this road. It has a notable history with an Armenian community that resided there in the early 20th century. The village is located in the Nowjeh Mehr Rural District, in the Siah Rud District, of Jolfa County. Historically, the population was largely Armenian before the Armenian genocide. An ancient Armenian church is located in the village.
