Getting there

Walking

From the Tatev Monastery complex, the viewpoint is a short walk. Follow the signs or ask locals for the best path to the 'Vyhlídka' or Tatev Viewpoint. The walk is generally easy, with well-trodden paths offering various perspectives of the monastery and gorge.

Taxi

If arriving in Tatev village, a local taxi can take you to the vicinity of the viewpoint. Negotiate the fare beforehand, as prices can vary. From the taxi drop-off, a short walk will lead you to the prime viewing location. Taxis are readily available in Goris, the nearest town.

Public Transport

From Goris, take a marshrutka (minibus) to Tatev village. Once in Tatev, it's a 4km walk or a short taxi ride to the monastery area, from where you can easily walk to the viewpoint. The marshrutka from Goris to Tatev costs approximately 300 AMD.

Wings of Tatev Cable Car

The most scenic approach is via the Wings of Tatev cable car from Halidzor. After arriving at the Tatev station, the viewpoint is a short walk from the monastery complex. A round-trip ticket on the cable car costs 7,000 AMD.
