The Tranvia Aruba, also known as the Aruba Tram, is a delightful and eco-friendly transportation system in Oranjestad. Inaugurated on December 22, 2012, it was designed as part of an urban revitalization project to enhance the downtown area, making it more inviting for both residents and visitors. This single-track tram line stretches 1.9 kilometers (1.2 miles), linking the Port of Call Marketplace near the cruise ship terminal to Plaza Nicky, also known as Plaza Comercio. As you glide along the route, you'll traverse key downtown streets, including Schelpstraat, Havenstraat, and the pedestrian-only Caya Betico Croes. Along the way, you'll encounter a mix of local shops, art galleries, and bustling markets, giving you a true taste of Aruban life.
