Car
From Atherton Tablelands, take the Kennedy Highway (A1) towards Cairns. The drive is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, covering around 90 km. As you approach Cairns, continue on A1 until you reach the intersection with Mulgrave Road. Turn left onto Mulgrave Road and follow it until you reach the roundabout at the intersection with Collins Avenue. Take the second exit onto Collins Avenue, and the Cairns Botanic Gardens will be on your right at 78-96 Collins Ave, Edge Hill QLD 4870.

To reach Cairns Botanic Gardens from Atherton Tablelands using public transport, first catch a bus from Atherton to Cairns. The bus service is operated by TransLink, and you can check the schedule and routes on their website. The journey takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Cairns at the Cairns Central Station, transfer to the local bus services. Take the bus route 110 or 111 towards Edge Hill, which will drop you off close to the Botanic Gardens. The stop you want is 'Collins Avenue' which is a short walk to the entrance of the gardens.
