Getting There

  • Car

    Start your journey from Atherton town center. Head southwest on Main Street/A25 towards Atherton-Townsville Road. Continue on A25 for approximately 20 kilometers. At the junction, turn left onto Tumoulin Road. After about 5 kilometers, you’ll reach McKenzie Falls, which will be on your left. There is a designated parking area available next to the falls. Note that parking may be limited during peak tourist seasons.

  • Public Transportation

    From Atherton, you can take a bus to Malanda which operates on a limited schedule. Get off at Malanda and transfer to a local taxi service to reach McKenzie Falls, as public transport options to the falls are very limited. Ensure you check the bus timetable in advance and consider booking a taxi ahead of time to avoid long waits.

    If you are feeling adventurous and are staying nearby, you can hike to McKenzie Falls. Starting from the Tumoulin area, follow the designated walking trails that lead to the falls.
