If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from one of the rental shops in Cairns. Head towards the Captain Cook Highway (A1) and follow it north. After approximately 30 km, take the exit towards Atherton and follow the signs to Herberton Rd. Platypus Park will be on your left after a short ride on Herberton Rd.
