    From Canberra City Interchange, take bus route 54 towards Campbell. The bus stops on Fairbairn Avenue and Limestone Avenue, both a short walk to the Memorial. The trip takes approximately 12 minutes and costs $2 - $5. Alternatively, from Parliament House, take bus 59 towards the City. This bus departs from Barton Bus Station every 20 minutes and arrives at Anzac Park East Constitution Avenue. From there, it is a short walk to the Memorial. This route also costs $2-$5.

  • Taxi/Ride Share

    Taxis and ride-sharing services are readily available throughout Canberra. A taxi from Canberra City Centre to the Australian War Memorial typically costs around $10 - $20 and takes approximately 5 minutes. A taxi from Campbell to the Australian War Memorial would cost around $17-$21. The designated drop-off and pick-up point is next to the National Servicemen's Memorial on East Road.

  • Walking

    Paved walking and cycle paths lead to the Memorial's entrance from Anzac Parade via Fairbairn and Limestone Avenues, with marked pedestrian crossings. From the top of Anzac Parade, it's approximately a 20-30 minute walk to the Memorial. From Campbell, it is approximately a 47 minute walk to the Memorial.

    Free visitor parking is available in the P1 and P2 visitor car parks. P1 car park is located underneath Poppy's Cafe, accessed via Fairbairn Avenue. P2 car park is accessed via Treloar Crescent. Note that there is currently no parking available for caravans, campervans, trailers and over-height vehicles. Limited coach layby is available on Fairbairn Avenue.
