Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving from the town of Broken Hill, take the Barrier Highway (A32) towards the east for approximately 1,100 kilometers. Continue onto the Mitchell Highway (A71) and follow it until you reach the town of Dubbo. From Dubbo, take the Newell Highway (A39) north and then follow signs to the Pacific Highway (M1). Merge onto M1 and head south towards Byron Bay. Once in Byron Bay, follow Lighthouse Road to reach the Cape Byron Lighthouse. Parking is available near the lighthouse, but note that there may be a parking fee.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Cape Byron Lighthouse via public transport, start by taking a bus from Broken Hill to Sydney. From Sydney, board a train to Byron Bay. The journey may take around 14 hours in total, so plan accordingly. Once you arrive in Byron Bay, you can take a local bus or taxi to Lighthouse Road to reach the lighthouse. The local buses are operated by Byron Bay Bus and run frequently, but check the timetable ahead of your visit. There will be costs associated with both the bus and train tickets, so ensure you have sufficient funds.

• Rental Bike

  For the more adventurous traveler, renting a bike in Byron Bay is a great way to reach Cape Byron Lighthouse. Many rental shops are available in the town. After renting your bike, head towards Lighthouse Road. The ride is approximately 3 kilometers from the center of Byron Bay and takes you through scenic coastal views.
