Walking

Start your journey from the Byron Bay Main Beach. Walk along Jonson Street heading south. After approximately 1 km, Jonson Street will become Lighthouse Road. Continue walking straight on Lighthouse Road, following the signs to the Cape Byron Lighthouse. You will pass the Byron Bay Surf Life Saving Club on your right. The Cape Byron Lighthouse National Parks and Wildlife Office is located at the end of Lighthouse Road, just before the lighthouse itself.
Cycling

If you have a bike, rent one from a local shop in Byron Bay. Begin at the Byron Bay Main Beach and cycle along Jonson Street, which will turn into Lighthouse Road. Follow the road as it winds up toward the lighthouse. The ride is about 3 km and offers beautiful views along the way. Once you reach the top of Lighthouse Road, the Cape Byron Lighthouse National Parks and Wildlife Office will be on your right, just before the lighthouse.
Public Transport

Take the local bus service (Route 640) from the Byron Bay town center towards Cape Byron. The bus will drop you off at the closest stop to Lighthouse Road. From the bus stop, walk up Lighthouse Road which leads directly to the Cape Byron Lighthouse. The National Parks and Wildlife Office is located just before the lighthouse itself. Be sure to check the bus schedule for the latest timings.
