Getting There

  • Bus

    From Hobart, head to the Elizabeth Street Bus Mall. Take the bus number 100 to Port Arthur. The bus departs regularly, so check the latest schedule. The journey will take approximately 1.5 hours. Once you arrive at the Port Arthur Historic Site, disembark and head towards the waterfront. From there, you will need to walk approximately 15 minutes along the coastline, following the signs to Maingon Blowhole. The blowhole is located in the Tasman National Park, so be sure to pay attention to the park signs.

    For a more adventurous option, consider renting a bike from one of the local shops in Hobart. Start at Salamanca Place and head east along the waterfront to access the Tasman Highway (A3).
