Walking
If you are starting from the Hobart city centre, make your way to Elizabeth Street. Walk south towards the waterfront, where you will see the Elizabeth Street Pier. Continue walking along the waterfront until you reach Franklin Wharf. From Franklin Wharf, continue onto Davey Street and follow it until you reach the intersection with Macquarie Street. Turn left onto Macquarie Street and continue walking until you reach the entrance of the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens. Follow the signs to the gardens and walk through them until you reach Lower Domain Road. Government House will be on your right at 7 Lower Domain Rd, Queens Domain.

From the Hobart city centre, head to the nearest bus stop on Macquarie Street and catch the Metro Tasmania bus number 20 or 21 towards the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens. Alight at the stop closest to the gardens. From there, walk through the gardens towards Lower Domain Road. Government House is located at 7 Lower Domain Rd, Queens Domain, which is just a short walk from the gardens.

If you prefer to cycle, you can rent a bike from one of the local rental shops in Hobart. Start from the city centre and head down to the waterfront via Elizabeth Street. Follow the bike paths along the waterfront, then turn onto Macquarie Street heading towards the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens. Once you enter the gardens, you can cycle through them and exit towards Lower Domain Road. Government House will be located at 7 Lower Domain Rd, which is easily accessible by bike.
