Getting There

  • Public Transport - Tram

    Start at the Melbourne CBD and catch tram number 96 or 109 from any tram stop along Bourke Street. Make sure to get on a tram heading towards St Kilda. You will need to get off at the stop 'Acland Street / Barkly Street'. From there, walk south down Barkly Street until you reach the beach. Turn left onto the Esplanade and continue walking until you reach Lagoon Pier, which is located at the southern end of St Kilda Beach.

  • Public Transport - Train

    From Flinders Street Station, take the Sandringham train towards Sandringham. Get off at the 'Balaclava' station. From Balaclava Station, you can either walk or take tram number 16 towards Kew, getting off at the stop 'Barkly Street / St Kilda'. From there, head south down Barkly Street to the beach, then turn left onto the Esplanade and walk until you reach Lagoon Pier.

  • Walking

    If you are already in St Kilda, simply head towards the beach. Find your way to Barkly Street and walk south until you reach the Esplanade. Turn left onto the Esplanade and continue walking along the beachfront, which will lead you directly to Lagoon Pier at the southern end of St Kilda Beach.

    For a fun and active option, rent a bike from one of the many bike rental stations in Melbourne. Cycle towards St Kilda along the Bay Trail, following the waterfront.
