Another option is to take the tram. If you are near the Southbank area, locate the nearest tram stop on St Kilda Road. You can catch tram number 1 or 67 heading towards the city. Get off at the 'Arts Centre' tram stop, which is just a short walk from the NGV. Exit the tram and head towards the Arts Centre, then follow the signs to the NGV, which is located right next to it. The tram ride takes approximately 5 minutes, and the fare is around AUD 4.50 for a single journey.
