Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving to Bullocks Hut, begin your journey from Jindabyne. Head west on the Kosciuszko Road (B12) towards the Kosciuszko National Park. The drive will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you reach the park entrance, you may need to pay a park entry fee (around AUD 17 per vehicle for a day pass). Continue on Kosciuszko Road until you reach the Bullocks Hut car park, which is located just off the main road. From the car park, follow the walking trail signs leading to Bullocks Hut, which is about a 15-20 minute walk along a well-marked path.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Bullocks Hut using public transport, take a bus from Jindabyne to the Kosciuszko National Park. Several bus companies operate this route, and it typically takes about 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at the park, you will need to take a short taxi ride or arrange for a shuttle service to the Bullocks Hut car park. From the car park, you will need to walk approximately 15-20 minutes along the marked trail to reach Bullocks Hut. Be sure to check the bus schedules in advance to plan your trip.

• Hiking

  For those who are more adventurous, you can hike to Bullocks Hut from the nearby Thredbo area. Start your hike from the Thredbo resort, taking the Thredbo River Track through beautiful landscapes. The hike is about 10 km one way and will take approximately 3-4 hours. Ensure you have adequate supplies, including water, snacks, and a map. Keep in mind that this option is for experienced hikers due to the distance and elevation changes.
