Car
If you're driving from central Mount Wellington, start by heading south on Huon Road (A6) towards the Wellington Park area. Continue on Huon Road until you reach the junction with Mount Wellington Road. Turn right onto Mount Wellington Road and follow the scenic route. After approximately 5 kilometers, you will see signs for Wellington Park and Mount Marian. Keep an eye out for the Mount Marian trailhead parking area on your right. The parking is usually free but be sure to check for any signage regarding parking regulations.
Public Transportation
To reach Mount Marian via public transportation, you can take a bus from the Hobart City Bus Station. Look for bus routes that head towards the Wellington Park area. Bus number 446 is a good option as it takes you towards the foothills of Mount Wellington. Disembark at the stop nearest to the Mount Wellington Road. From there, you will need to walk approximately 2 kilometers along Mount Wellington Road until you reach the trailhead for Mount Marian. This walk is scenic but make sure to wear comfortable shoes. Check the bus schedule ahead of time as services may vary on weekends.
Walking
If you are already in the vicinity of Mount Wellington, you can opt to walk to Mount Marian. From the nearest bus stop, head towards Mount Wellington Road. Follow the road until you see the Mount Marian trailhead on your left. The walk is approximately 20-30 minutes depending on your pace. Make sure to bring water and wear appropriate hiking gear as the trail can be steep in parts.
