Take the Bruce Highway (A1) north and then turn onto the Flinders Highway (A6) towards Ayr. Continue on the Flinders Highway until you reach the fork where it intersects with the Herbert River. Take the left exit onto the Haughton River Road. Follow the signs for Magnetic Island Ferry Terminal. Park your car at the ferry terminal. The ferry to Magnetic Island costs approximately AUD 30 for a return trip.
