Car
If you're traveling by car, head towards the Grampians National Park region. From Melbourne, take the Western Freeway (M8) towards Ballarat. After about 90 km, take the exit toward the Sunraysia Highway (A79) towards Stawell. Continue on A79 for approximately 40 km until you reach Stawell. In Stawell, follow the signs to Grampians Road (C222) and drive for about 30 km. Turn left onto Wartook Road, which will lead you directly to Lake Wartook. The drive offers scenic views, so keep your camera ready!
Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, take a V/Line train from Southern Cross Station in Melbourne to Stawell. The journey takes about 2.5 hours. Upon arrival at Stawell, you can take a taxi or a rideshare service to Lake Wartook, which is approximately 30 km away. It's advisable to book a taxi in advance, as public transport options may be limited. Expect to pay around $50-$70 AUD for the taxi ride.
