Car
If you are driving from Cairns, take the Bruce Highway (A1) south and then turn onto the Gillies Range Road (which becomes Gillies Road). Follow Gillies Range Road until you reach the intersection with the Malanda-Millaa Millaa Road. Turn left onto Malanda-Millaa Millaa Road and continue for about 23 kilometers. Turn right onto East Hill Road and follow it for about 2 kilometers until you reach Halls Falls. Be aware of potential entry fees for parking, which may vary depending on the time of year.
Public Transportation
Start your journey at Cairns Central Station. Take a bus to Malanda; check the schedule as buses may not run frequently. Once you arrive in Malanda, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to take you the remaining 18 kilometers to Halls Falls. Make sure to confirm the taxi's availability ahead of time, as rideshares may not be readily available in this rural area.
Taxi/Rideshare
If you are already in Malanda and need a quick way to reach Halls Falls, consider calling a local taxi service or using a rideshare app. The distance from Malanda to Halls Falls is around 18 kilometers, and the drive should take approximately 20-25 minutes. Ensure you confirm the fare before starting your ride, as rates may vary.
